I’m a doctor, writer, and anthropologist based in Boston, MA.

I write about care, culture, and the human experience of medicine. My essays have appeared in Journal of the American Medical Association, McSweeney’s, The Yale Review, and Catapult. My ethnographic scholarship explores the experiences of women who face domestic violence in India. My clinical focus is on general internal medicine, global women’s health, and trauma-informed care.

I was born in Kolkata, India, and grew up in Wellington, New Zealand, and Houston, Texas. I graduated from Harvard College (’10) with a BA in History and Literature. I received my MD from Stanford University School of Medicine (’18) and my PhD in Anthropology from Stanford University (’18). I completed residency in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. I am currently a medicine hospitalist at Brigham and Women’s and a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School.
